A visual arts dialogue: Austin, Texas and beyond
aether magazine aims to engage collectors, artists and galleries in conversation about the visual arts in our community and beyond. Inspired by the diverse art scene in Austin where new ideas and creativity are abundant, we are reminded that art is an essential element in our lives – one that is constantly evolving.
aether reserves a place for us to explore these transformation; first, by acknowledging the energy and effort that goes into the creation of art; and second, by exploring the new life a work takes on as it is transferred from artist to world.
Based in Austin, Texas, aether was launched in 2011 as a semi-annual e-magazine and 8 full issues were released in the subsequent four years. In early 2016, aether was launched on an interactive website designed to enhance comments and discussion, increase content sharing and distribution, and otherwise more effectively fulfill our goal of driving conversation about the visual arts in our community.
aether features content written by a diverse group of professionals, artists, educators and experts.
